Ko ho mau 'Eiki Koe,

'Aia 'oku mau fai ni,

'O mala'i 'a Tupou

Oh Almighty God above,
Thou art our Lord and sure defence,
In our goodness we do trust Thee
And our Tonga Thou dost love;
Hear our prayer, for though unseen
We know that Thou hast blessed our land;
Grant our earnest supplication,
Guard and save Tupou our King.
| Known as "Koe Fasioe Tu'i oe otu Tonga". The Tongan National Anthem was written by Prince Uelingatoni Ngu Tupoumalohi. The music composed by Karl Gustavus Schmitt circa 1874 when it was also thought to have been first performed. |
