It is a warm day in the Kingdom.   The people of Tonga are adorning the streets in somber black and royal purple in preparation.  His Majesty King Taufa’ahau Tupou IV arrives in Tonga at approximately 4pm today.  Buildings, fences, homes, trees and poles are draped in regal mourning colours to honour the late Monarch.

The Lord Chamberlain hand delivers messages of condolences from His Imperial Majesty Akihito, Emperor of Japan and His Imperial Highness Prince Tomohito of Mikasa, to the new Monarch, His Majesty the King Siaosi Tupou V.

The Kingdom waits in anticipation for their beloved King to return to Tongan soil.
