The Lord Chamberlain Honourable Fielakepa and the Royal Officers from the King’s Residence in Atalanga met with the Police and Airbase Officials yesterday.  This meeting was to discuss the logistics involved in flying the late King and His entourage back to the Kingdom on Wednesday. 

 

The Royal Airforce C130 Hercules aircraft has been fully serviced for the flight.  It is envisaged that only a select group of the King’s immediate family and key Officials will accompany Him back to the Kingdom of Tonga. 

The cooperation and goodwill of the New Zealand Police Force and Royal New Zealand Airforce has been overwhelming.  The Lord Chamberlain wishes to thank them on behalf of the Royal Family and the people of Tonga.
